Identify Pre-Award Projects

Overview

The Regional POC creates Pre-Award projects in GEMS and assigns the appropriate FPO. The Pre-Award section allows POCs to create a new Pre-Award Project and to edit an existing Pre-Award project.

Create a Pre-Award Project

1. Select Home from the top navigation bar.

2. Select Enter Pre-Award from the POC menu. The Enter Pre-Award Project Information screen will be displayed (Figure 1).

3. Enter data in the displayed fields. If data is not entered in the required fields, the project cannot be saved.

4. Select a FPO from the Primary FPO scroll list.

5. Select a name from the Manager(s) and/or Backup FPO(s) scroll list to add these assignment(s) to the Pre-Award project. To add more than one Manager or Backup FPO assignment to the project, hold the CTRL or SHIFT key and select the appropriate names.

6. Click the Save button to retain the Pre-Award project. The project will now appear in the primary FPO’s ‘ My Projects’ list under the My Pre-Award Projects view.

Edit a Pre-Award Project

1. Select Home from the top navigation bar.

2. Select View Project from the POC menu. The Projects List screen will be displayed (Figure 1).

3. Sort the Project List by selecting the Pre-Award value in the Stage drop down menu. Click the Go button.

4. Click the arrow icon next to the Pre-Award project name to be edited and the Project Details screen will be displayed (Figure 2).

5. Click the Edit Pre-Award Project Info link to edit the Pre-Award project information. The Enter Pre-Award Project Information screen will be displayed (Figure 3).

6. Enter updated information in desired fields.

7. Click the Save button to retain the changes to the Pre-Award project.
