Top Navigation Bar

The top navigation bar is the blue bar under the GEMS logo that contains the main navigation buttons for the application. Refer to Figure 1.

‘My Projects’ List

The ‘My Projects’ List is displayed on the left of every screen throughout the application and provides quick access to the user’s and regional projects. The list displays projects alphabetically ascending on the project’s state. The project name or the project nickname will accompany the state depending on the user’s selected option (see Options). Refer to Figure 2. The list can be filtered by the following views:

MY PROJECTS
- Primary Pre-Award:
Displays all Pre-Award projects to which the user is assigned to as the primary FPO.
- Primary Award: Displays all Active projects to which the user is assigned to as the primary FPO.
- Primary All: Displays all Pre-Award and Active projects to which the user is assigned to as the primary FPO.
- Primary Inactive: Displays all Inactive projects to which the user is assigned to as the primary FPO.
- Backup Pre-Award: Displays all Pre-Award projects to which the user is assigned to as the Backup FPO.
- Backup Award: Displays all Active projects to which the user is assigned to as the Backup FPO.
- Backup All: Displays all Pre-Award and Active projects to which the user is assigned to as the Backup FPO.
- Backup Inactive: Displays all Inactive projects to which the user is assigned to as the Backup FPO.

MY GRANTS
- Primary Post-Award: Displays all active grants by project name to which the user is assigned to as the primary FPO.
- Primary Close-out: Displays all grants in the close-out phase by project name to which the user is assigned to as the primary FPO.
- Primary Expired: Displays all expired grants by project name to which the user is assigned to as the primary FPO.
- Primary All: Displays all grants by project name to which the user is assigned to as the primary FPO.
- Primary Inactive: Displays all inactive grants by project name to which the user is assigned to as the primary FPO.

REGION PROJECTS
- Region Pre-Award: Displays all Pre-Award projects in the user's region.
- Region Award: Displays all Active projects in the user's region.
- Region All: Displays all Pre-Award and Active projects to which the user is assigned to as the primary FPO.
- Region Inactive: Displays all Inactive projects to which the user is assigned to as the primary FPO.

Project

Termed used throughout GEMS referring to a manageable unit containing one or more grants and assigned to a primary FPO for oversight and management. The Active FPO menu displays the different activities an FPO can perform on a active project. When an FPO performs an activity on a project, the activity is applicable to all grants assigned to that project.

Active Project Menu

The Active Project Menu provides the FPO accessibility to those activities he/she can perform on an active project and is located on the right side of all active project screens. The menu is used to navigate the user through active project pages. Refer to Figure 3.

POC Menu

The POC Menu provides the POC accessibility to those activities he/she can perform in the region and is located on the right side of all POC screens. The menu is used to navigate the user through POC pages. Refer to Figure 4.

Pre-Award Project Menu

The Pre-Award Project Menu provides the FPO accessibility to those activities he/she can perform on a pre-award project and is located on the right side of all active project screens. The menu is used to navigate the user through Pre-Award project pages. Refer to Figure 5.

Manager Menu

The Manager Menu provides the Manager accessibility to those activities he/she can perform as a manager in GEMS. The menu is located on the left side of all manager screens. The menu is used to navigate the manager screens. Refer to Figure 6.

Fields that require data in order to save the record are labeled with a red asterisk. Refer to Figure 7.
